About

I bring structure to practical ideas.

My background combines operational leadership, project planning, systems analysis, and hands-on software development. I enjoy taking an idea that is still rough, organizing its requirements, and building it into something people can actually use.

What I do

I do my best work where real operating needs meet a system that still needs to be defined.

I work across project management, systems analysis, software development, technology integration, process improvement, and technical documentation. The common thread is practical: understand the need, organize the work, and build an appropriate solution.

I use this portfolio to show both the finished thinking and the work still in progress. When a project is a prototype or working concept, I label it that way rather than presenting it as something it is not.

Leadership background

Operational leadership changed how I see risk, communication, and accountability.

My fire-service leadership background informs how I plan work and communicate under pressure. It reinforced the value of preparation, defined roles, clear information, and calm decisions when conditions change.

This is my independent professional portfolio. It is not an official fire-department website and does not imply endorsement by an employer or public agency.

Technical background

I care about technology that fits the work around it.

My technical work focuses on web applications, information structure, workflow design, integration planning, and the documentation needed to make systems understandable. Tools matter, but I choose them in service of the problem and the people using the result.

  • Requirements before assumptions
  • Simple systems before clever systems
  • Visible decisions before hidden complexity
  • Usable documentation before tribal knowledge

Where I’m headed

I’m continuing to build where operational judgment and hands-on technical work reinforce one another.

I’m developing applications, documenting product ideas, and refining the way I move from requirements to working software. I’m also open to select freelance work and professional collaboration when the fit is right.
